Contribution Guidelines
Can organizations make political contributions? No. Corporations, unions, and organizations are prohibited from making political contributions. They also cannot reimburse individuals for making contributions.
How much can I contribute? For 2024, individuals can contribute a total of $1,450.82 to each independent candidate, including Tom. This limit is per person, per year.
Are there other restrictions?
- Anonymous contributions are only allowed if they are less than $50 and made at an event hosted by or on behalf of the campaign.
- Cash contributions must be $100 or less. Contributions over $100 must be made by cheque, money order, credit card, or electronic transfer.

It’s crucial to follow the rules set by the Election Act. Violating contribution rules can lead to serious penalties, including fines of up to double the amount of the unlawful contribution. Please ensure all contributions comply with the legal requirements.
