Great to take in some of the displays and activities with Scott McInnis Columbia River-Revelstoke Candidate BC United at this years National Red Dress remembrance and recognition at Rotary Park in Cranbrook.
Indigenous women and girls face disproportionately high rates of violence due to systemic factors such as poverty, racism, legacies of colonialism, and lack of access to adequate support services. Red Dress Day is a call to action to address these systemic issues and to ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of Indigenous women and girls are respected and protected.. #MMIW

Thank-you to BC Wildlife Federation and East Kootenay Wildlife Association for hosting and presenting a great information session on the state of wildlife, habitat and biodiversity in the province. Legislation and funding are 2 parts of putting Wildlife First. My private members bill takes care of both. That said, more will be needed to be done. In the next election look to the party that will get this done. BC United has committed fully to a new independent funding model, legislative changes, full financial support to eliminate or mitigate Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), and strengthening the mitigation or elimination of our invasive species (Zebra/Quagga mussels, and noxious weeds).
So much needs to be done and we can’t afford to wait.
I was also happy to introduce all these great people in attendance to Scott McInnis Columbia River-Revelstoke Candidate BC United as part of the BC United team as the only party that will get this done.

What a great turn out! Thank you for all your hard work Tom! I appreciate it. Great seeing you today!

It's all in the interpretation. (full financial support of Chronic Wasting Disease). One could read this and think BC United wasn't against the spread of CWD. Also, (strengthening our invasive species (Zebra/Quagga mussels, and noxious weeds). This sounds as though BC United wants more of these as well. Before anyone goes off on me, I am aware of how they stand on these issues. But, as I stated, it's a matter of interpretation of statements.

Saturday May 4th is “Red Dress Day” which is the National Day of Awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). I took the time to go to the Ktunaxa Gymnasium to make a poster for the event (I’m not an artist) with Autumn Patrick by my side. If you wish to participate in the walk then meet at Street Angles at 11:15am. To watch the event be at Rotary Park by 11:30. #MMIW ...

I thought Sunday, May 5th was Red Dress Day. Am I confused again?

May 5 We remember indigenous women who are missing, those who have lost their lives, and the families who have lost loved ones. Red Dress remembers those affected by this tragedy. Listen here: soundcloud.com/hillipsand/red-dress

Thanks for coming out and always supporting the Ktunaxa people.
