What I truly love about these old photos is that it shows how communities really got together for events. Look how many people young and old alike (even the family dog). There was very little distractions and the division between people may have been as much as the difference between the colour of your hat.
Brining people and communities together has always been my number one objective and I do realize that partisanship does play into things from time to time. That said, going into this next election, look to the candidate that can unite instead of divide. This is very important not only now but for generations to come.Crowd at Sports Day and dog, May 1st 1912.

If anyone is wondering why the flags are at half mast today it is because every year, on April 28, workers, families, employers, and others come together at events held around the province to remember those who have lost their lives on the job or to occupational diseases, and to renew our commitment to creating safer workplaces.
I was proud to stand with members of East Kooteany Labour Council, BCGEU, Worksafe BC, and members of the public. All of whom have been directly impacted by worker health and safety. From Firefighters to healthcare workers it is never OK to work in an unsafe workplace. We all have responsibilities to ensure workers and workplaces are healthy and safe and that everyone makes it home after their shift.
